Your browser data stays in your browser.

• Page structure and content: title, meta tags, headings, images, links, Open Graph and Twitter tags, and JSON-LD or microdata structured data, used to show readiness checks, previews, and schema validation.
• Rendered layout signals: element sizes, colors, and contrast, used only for the local Mobile and Accessibility diagnostics. These never affect your SEO score and never leave your device.
• Locally observed performance timing: Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, TTFB) that your browser exposes for the current page visit, shown only to you.
• The active tab's URL: read during analysis to identify the page, classify links, resolve relative URLs, reset stale results after navigation, and name exports.
• HTTP response details: read only when you run one of the optional network checks described under Network requests you initiate.

• computing an SEO readiness score and score-neutral diagnostics for the current page;
• rendering heading outlines, image and link audits, social previews, and structured-data validation;
• locating and highlighting the matching element on the page when you click a result;
• running the Broken Link Check, Sitemap Audit, or Technical Audit once you start one; and
• building the CSV export or copying a value to your clipboard when you ask for it.

It is not used for advertising, for profiling, or for anything beyond showing you SEO information about the page you asked about.

Nothing persists between analyses

SEO Facet does not keep a history of the pages you have viewed. Every time you open the panel, switch tabs, or press Refresh, it reads the current page from scratch, and nothing about the previous page sticks around.

Display preferences in chrome.storage.local

SEO Facet remembers whether you selected the resizable overlay or native dock, along with your preferred overlay width. These two non-personal settings remain on your device until you change them, clear the extension's data, or uninstall the extension. The extension does not sync them.

Short-lived technical values in chrome.storage.session

Three small, non-personal values live in chrome.storage.session, a storage area your browser clears automatically when it closes and never writes to disk.

• A one-time token, created only when you click the toolbar icon, that lets the overlay panel it opens confirm it was genuinely launched by you rather than embedded by some other webpage. It is used once and then deleted.
• A brief marker noting that a SEO Facet panel is open for a given tab, so that if you have both the toolbar overlay and the docked side panel open on the same page, each one can let you know the other is also active.
• A per-tab open/closed flag that restores a resizable overlay the user left open after an eligible same-tab page navigation. Closing the overlay deletes the flag.

Neither value says anything about the page you are analyzing, and neither has anything to do with your browsing history.

• Broken Link Check: sends HEAD requests, retrying with GET when needed, to the unique http and https links found on the current page, to report their response status.
• Sitemap Audit: discovers sitemap directives and nested sitemap indexes, and, if you choose to check its URLs, requests each one, a handful at a time, to report availability.
• Technical Audit: requests the current page along with its robots.txt file and sitemap directives to assess redirect-aware HTTP status, indexability, and crawlability.

In every case, the request goes directly from your browser to that website. None of it passes through infrastructure we operate, and we never receive, log, or keep a copy of it. The site you contact this way handles your request under its own privacy practices, not ours.

The extension does not load remotely hosted executable code. Its code and assets ship with the installed extension. We may disclose information if required to by applicable law, though in practice we hold no personal data that such a request could even reach.

SEO Facet uses page information only to provide the user-facing features described in this policy. It does not use or transfer that information for advertising, credit decisions, unrelated purposes, or human review. SEO Facet's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because SEO Facet does not collect or store personal data on any server, we generally have none to provide, amend, or erase. If you have questions about these rights, contact us below.
